I think we're all ants on a pebble. No effect once we die and if the human race dies the rest of the universe wouldn't care a jot.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The truth is no one on this planet has any idea who put us on this planet so no one can give you the correct answer, people have their belief's and that fair enough but if god did build this whole universe then who put god here. And who's to say other cultures are wrong, lets say if i was born into a family that live in the jungle in Africa are somewhere like that and have genuinely never heard of god, would i be let in to heaven? ( not too sure I believe in god yet I need to see it to believe it i guess ). My meaning would be to make the most out of life in the nicest way possible not on the expense of anyone else

It's a subjective thing. The Meaning Of Life to one person might be totally meaningless to someone else. The Meaning Of Life can be grandiose and pretentious or it can be the most simple thing in the world.

The answer to the question is - The Meaning Of Life is whatever you choose it to mean. Perhaps there is no meaning and it may be foolish to look for one. All we can do is to live as long as we can and try not to harm others on the way.

Entropy must increase for the universe to exist
Where life is - entropy increases.
We as a collective are an fundamental tool of the universe.

At a personal level - WE WILL ALL DIE and we don't get another chance so make sure you live while you can

It's a film by Monty Python or it's what you make of it. This obviously depends on your beliefs. It is different for all of us.
And don't belive that God rubbish. What sort of God wants people to spend their whole life putting them first and worshipping them, whats the point of us being here just to spend our whole time "praising the lord". If and I do mean and unbrainwashed if, he does exist, he wants us to be the best we can be. This again is down to what you think this means. But if you get it wrong you will only know when it's too late.

Life is given to you through your parents. That seems to be the meaning. Reproduction. Nature is trying to find an impossible outcome. ie Immortality. As, in the human dream of perpetual motion.

When God created you, He gave you Life. There is another meaning as well: In a court of law, when a judge gives you LIFE that means you're going to jail for about 20 years.
