If you could be someone else, because they were going to die, and the powers that be said 'You can take their life and they'll live forever in peace etc etc and you'll live to a grand old age as them, plus you were gonna die at the same time anyway' who would you extend the life of?

My mother, who died last month. If someone had told me that I could give my life so she could live, I would have done it instantly and I'm serious about it.
My mother was no celebrity or inventor or anything like that, but she had more influence over my life than all the people mentioned above combined. She was the sun of my universe and the beat of my heart. I miss her like hell.

I would want to extend my life.
