Good question,
Miles Davis, John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, John Abercrombie, Bill Frisell, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Chick Corea, Kenny Garrett, Monk,
Kenny G is easily recognizable, whether I keep it on the same station is another matter.

Being a saxophonist, I can usually pick out most of the great horn players. However, there are those who always stand out:
Prez
Newk
Trane
Bird
Getz
Brecker
I have at least 100 CDs with Herbie Hancock as a leader or sideman, so I recognize him readily. Bill Evans and Chick Corea are also quite distinctive. Pat Metheny is also a standout. Jaco Pastorius and Charles Mingus are easy to recognize on bass.
Some of the toughest for me are the drummers. I might be correct about 10% of the time on those.

Being a guitarist, I can pick out Pat Metheny, Al DiMeola, Mike Stern, and Allan Holdsworth immediately. They all have such unmistakably individual styles and sounds. Same goes for other musicians, like Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Charles Mingus, Elvin Jones, Michael Brecker, and Dave Holland.
