I just visited the Island and have wondered for years what draws so many internationals to work here. I'm not trying to imply anything negative about these wonderful people, I was just curious because it is not typical to have so much diversity in Northern Michigan.

Maybe it is peaceful and just plain beautiful? It is a tourist attraction, isn't it? Imagine the millions of visitors per week. There are thousands of jobs available especially in the service industry, etc. International students can get work easily. I'm sure they enjoy living on the island too.
