Later: I agree with "Alvin R" , the Orleans is usually the best value hotel in LV. "Tripadvisor" name it the #2 best value hotel in the world.

Well, as with most things, it all depends on what you want as opposed to what you want to pay for.

If you want a place close to the strip, with good, cheap rooms about a Motel 6 quality and a coffee shop with good value meals as specials, Wild Wild West is a great choice. You can even gamble for low stakes at the casino and place your sport bets. The thing is, it's cheap, and the money you save buys a lot of cabfare to the strip or money to play blackjack with. You won't have a problem getting a cab either - the place offers great specials in the coffee shop and the cabbies hang out there.

If you want to stay someplace closer to some action, look for a downtown hotel off Fremont. It's old Las Vegas, but you can get shrimp cocktails for 99 cents ... hot dogs as well. There is plenty of low-stakes gaming. I have a friend who is staying at the 4 Queens. You will get a basic room without a pool, but it won't cost much.

If you really want to stay on the strip, Imperial Palace is probably your best bet. Call and ask. If you want the strip experience, it is probably your cheapest option if you consider cabfare and a nice room.

First off, why would you want to stay at "the least expensive place in Vegas"? Keep in mind, you get what you paid for and this is especially true in Vegas. Rundown hotels= shoddy room conditions, including unsanitary conditions that may make you sick and shady clientele. For your own piece of mind and health, if you can afford better do it. Don't skimp or "play games" with your life/health. If you can't afford to stay, minimally safe and sound in Vegas, don't come. Otherwise...
Along the strip I recommend, Sahara, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, Palace Station and The Stratosphere. They offer cheap rates and "reasonable" conditions. Downtown, any of the casinos can accommodate you fairly well. Avoid the so-called older, local hotels, for the reasons I stated above.
It's all up to you and ultimately your decision. Good luck.

I would say the Western Hotel and Casino, about 1/2 mile east of the Fremont Experience. The rooms go for about 18 dollars during the weekday, and somewhere in the 20s-30s for the weekends. Although expect cinder block walls, burn marks on the linen and carpet, and a clientele that includes alot of homeless people.

I don't think you really want the least expensive place to stay. The really cheap hotels can get pretty ugly and who knows what can keep you up all night.

The best place for the money is the Orleans.

You might also want to go to http://www.InternetDatingGame.NET and see if you can't win 2 nights at the New York New York and tickets to Zumanity.

The place you DON'T want to stay at. Make sure you know what value is to yourself and then see how willing you are to go cheap. Most of Vegas is ghetto! so be careful!

It depends on where you want to stay. On the strip, Excalibur has good rates.
