I have a small Ivy plant in my window above my sink. It has been green and lush for months. Now its turing brown and looking a little dead in many places. Am I watering it too much? How often should I water a plant like that? Too much sun maybe?

If the leaves are turning brown and crispy, that means that you are not watering enough.

If the leaves first turn yellow and then fall off, that means that you are watering too much.

The best advice for watering plants is to actually check the soil each day. Stick your finger into the dirt. If it is wet or damp, leave it alone. If it is dry or mostly dry, then you should water. The surface of the dirt dries out faster than the dirt below by the roots. That is why it is important that you actually put your finger INTO the soil.

As for sun, low to moderate light is best for ivy. If it gets too much sun, it will dry out faster and you may need to water daily. Otherwise, every few days should be fine.

watering inside plants usually get water by sink. to much clorine will deplete the food in soil. try putting a little good dirt on top and water with water that has sat up a day or so or rain water water only when dirt is dry to touch

Could be an insect. Take it to a plant or greenhouse store in the neighborhood since its that small. I would do it in a hurry.
