My goal is to clean the bathrooms on Mon.night, dust rooms & wipedown counters in kitchen on Tues, Wed. vacuum upstairs & steps, then Thurs. sweep downstairs & mop. Including working on laundry each night. I work Mon-Fri and thought I could do this house cleaning like this so my weekends would be free. Trouble is, it takes up so much time! I've heard of some people just vacuuming every other week, or cleaning bathrooms every other week. What do you do?

You are certainly well organized and on the right path. It is easier to put your plan together and follow it. So why would you worry yourself about people less organized than yourself? I do what you do because weekends are so important otherwise your weekend is gone with chores and errands. I still have to menu plan and get groceries for the upcoming week on the weekend but even that can be incorporated into the previous week if we have something planned for the weekend. It's always about keeping up and planning well. Sounds like you have it down. Go girl.

I live alone and can get by with sweeping every other week, but the bathroom gets a good wipe down every 3 or 4 days. I like to spend about 2 hours a day with general picking up and dusting. Do a couple loads of washing through the week. Come the weekend, all need to d is shopping and can devote time to my gardens.

I wash dishes several times a day, try to keep the kitchen and bathrooms looking spotless, clean 3 litter boxes twice a day, feed 9 cats, do laundry for husband and son, plan meals, shop for groceries, cook, clean up, vacuum, sweep outside.

I used to love doing housework, but my cancer treatment makes me feel weak, tired, and nauseaus . . . . . oh yeah, and dizzy and hot and like I have the flu, so housework is a chore now.

My husband pays for a maid to come in once a month to do the deep cleaning and dusting, but she doesn't cook so I'm trying to convince hubby to hire a nice chef. lol fat chance.

You believe me or not I clean the bath rooms every day (only my bath rooms) and other bath rooms I clean week once. Regarding other work, I water the plants all the day, put washing machine and doing vessels cleaning regularly without a dish washer(Our dish washer for want of spare parts lying waste)But I put the vacuum cleaner only 15 days once. I tell you these things are depending on the need and personal interest only. You have to think and manage things according to your priority. Yours VRVRAO

i know, its such a never ending cycle.

i do laundry, dishes, general tidy up everyday.
i do the vacuming fridays, with the bathrooms, the sweeping and the food shopping. it takes me all day, but i do the whole house. i play music and get thru, stopping for a nice salad roll (usually for lunch), this is the highlight of my day.
its really annoying, but i find that if i have a "system" like putting my bills in a box etc, that leaves less mess all up. and i take mess when i can, when i make it.

then again, i have no kids and im alone, so its much easier for me.
sounds like the system you have is a good one. if its not working for you, try another until your happy with the one you have,
but yes the mess will never end.

not much...sweep and mop kitchen and bathrooms
clean sinks and toilets
laundry as needed
I don't do cleaning on Friday or Sunday just to give myself a break
