This college made me believe that they had full accredidation when the truth is that they are on academic probation. How do I go about getting reimburssed? Do I have to take some kind of legal action?

Being on probation doesn't mean that they aren't fully accredited. Until such time as they have their accreditation revoked, they are what they told you there are - fully accredited by SACS.

Did you perform due diligence before you enrolled to make sure their claimed status is what they say it is?

You should read this statement: http://www.sacscoc.org/disclosure/dec2006/American%20InterContinental%20U.pdf

SACS tells us that AIU is in fact accredited by them but that their probation will continue until Dec. 2007 when it will be reviewed again.

If you want a refund, you'll need another reason - this one won't fly, they told you the truth. Unless you're prepared to sue SACS for saying "American InterContinental University is
accredited by the Commission on Colleges..."

It's possible that you have some recourse if you're one of the people referred to in the report that they have a recruiting issue...
