I assume you don't already have any pets in your tank.

First, please don't try goldfish, they will outgrow your tank.

There are many, many species of fish that will do very well in your tank, far too many to list. I would suggest you decide whether you want a single fish, a group of fish or a group of fish and other animals such as shrimp for your tank. That would make it far easier to help you make good choices that you will enjoy.

Feel free to email me if I can help

Depends on what you are looking for. Just color and movement? Buy about 3-4 Guppies and let them breed. When I was a kid, we had over 400 fish in a 10 gallon tank before things went predictably wrong. But it WAS impressive!

Goldfish are always nice. Algae eaters are good because they will help keep the tank cleaner. Salt water fish are alot harder to keep alive than fresh water. But really just go to your local pet shop and look around, ask whoever works there what are the easiest to hardest fish to keep. It really depends on how many, and how much time and energy you want to put into them!

neon tetras are nice - inexpensive, easy to care for, and cool looking - you should have about 6-8 in your 10-gallon tank
plus at least one algae-eater
