Of course it's very dangerous when someone pulls out in front of you. But what is gained by making vulgar gestures? Does it make them or your dad a more careful driver? Another thing that's dangerous...just yesterday, I was in the center lane (of a 5 lane interstate) and a person passed everyone ON THE RIGHT and then zoomed into the very left lane...at at least 100 mph. That too was dangerous....oops! Sorry! That was a young dude and you were discussing old people, weren't you?

Source: National Safety Council, Itasca, IL, Accident Facts, 1997 edition (copyright).

Interesting place, gives you statistics of accidents, and the age of the driver who was at fault with the accident. Guess what it shows for drivers under 25 as opposed to drivers over 65? Guess which group causes the most problems, and has the highest insurance rates. Guess at what age the breaks in costs start (okay, don't guess, it's 50).

Yep, those old people ought to be taken off the road!

Perhaps your father has run out of words - that are non offensive -to express his feelings.Perhaps he is signing for the deaf ?

It is an interesting way to teach his son tolerance.
