my red tail does this with my fish all the time, i just leave him in as there is no sign of damage to other fish, they are all healthy and show no signs of stress.

If he is causing damage them im afraid you will have to re-home him

Red Tailed Sharks get quite aggressive, especially when kept in small tanks. They get about 6 inches long and will go after most fish (especially Angels) so they should only be mixed with other fish that are pretty aggressive. Give the Shark away ASAP or get it into another tank. Email me if you have any questions.

EDIT: The Shark will get about 6 inches long, and it will continue to get more aggressive. Since you have an Anglefish, I assume you have at least a 30 gallon tank?

Red tail sharks can be rather territorial. Usually you see it most with other members of the same species, but as you are finding out, they do sometimes decide everyone is unwelcome in their turf. Now, unless you have actually seen the Red tail shark doing this, I would blame the angel first as they are also known to be territorial and often will attack other fish.

The only thing you can really do is determine which fish is guilty and remove it from the tank.

red tailed sharks are agressive fishes, it isnt common for them to do this, while it usually happens when they are larger adults, but young ones can be aggressive.

What you should do, is return him or get him a seperate tank. Those are really your only options.

Next time do some more research about the fish, as they are semi aggressive on most sites, But they can be alot worest when full grown adults.

Yes, he is aggressive. Remove the other fish or remove him.
