YES! act confident! But also, BE confident! Don't base your confidence on hw you look (or else at 70 ur going to have a pretty low self-esteem!) rather think about ur achievement, freinds, ppl u love and ppl who love you.
oh yeah, confidence is also much more appealing to a girl then being unsure of urslef

Nothing wrong with acting confident at all! For anyone, really.
Here's a great example of something that I think you might be talking about, from my life.
I was walking back to my car after class one day, in college, and this black guy was literally looking me up and down. He made no attempt to hide the fact that he was checking me out. While I was pretty pissed off about it inside, because I don't think it's proper for men to act like that, I just gave him a big smile, and said, "Hey!," and kept on walking.
Even if you feel like you're the smallest person on the planet, you should always give an aura of confidence. If you smile and act happy, people will usually always treat you with respect.
I'm not saying to hide your emotions or something like that, haha. However, having confidence throughout life is a very good trait. :)

Although my mirror says that I'm not a good looking guy, I can still act confidant, because I know and admit my shortcomings.

no, not at all nfact i think i am always doing it because i used to be a very shy person, but iv grown more confident over time. so if you act confident you will become confident, flaunt it i say :)

it is fine to act confident and not be, i did it for some of my life but now i am secure with how i feel and some of those threads are just people digging for compliments. (p.s. your hot)
