Most fish do tend to slow down when it gets dark, so I would say, if you want to catch them active, being there during the most sun would be the best time. Actually, when the sun shines on my pond is when my goldies do their most swimming, so daytime. Catching them. What's the saying...? Catch as catch can....? You'll never get all of them. Best you can hope for is most. Remove as many things as you can that they can use as hiding places. Use the biggest net opening with the finest netting you can find and scoop away. Fry tend to school, so you should get several at a time. You usually want to come from behind so they can't see you, but if you have scatterers, you may want to use two nets. One from the front and one from behind. Don't chase them with the net all around the pond. It just freaks them out more and you'll have less and less chance of catching them, plus it just stresses them out. So, if your first scoop doesn't work, pull it out and wait a few seconds, then try again. You'll figure out what works best after a few tries.

I've found my pond goldfish to be the most active around daybreak....they seem to want to come to the top and feed about that time. Try checking them at that time, take some food and a net, toss in some food and try to scoop out the babies with the net. They are active most of the day, less active at night, but seem to be most active around daybreak. Good luck!

Goldfish are both coldblooded as well as daytime active fish. So to catch them at their very most active it will be at the time of daylight that your pond water is it's warmest. That's typically about 1 hour before dark or the last hour that sunlight strikes the majority of the pond.

That's awesome that you were able to get them to hatch. Mine usually eat the eggs.
My fish are active most of the day.
I bet those babies are cute. Sorry I couldn't help.

during daylight they will hide at night, either take out the decor if they hiding or put in some food and take them by surprise.
Use a fry net or you could even suck them out using a big enough siphon hose
