How do you get rid of unwanted spirits?

Here are some things that you can do, I know you are Catholic so I will put the Catholic ways first.

* Pray the Rosary and/or Divine Mercy Chaplet
The Rosary is a great weapon again evil, Pray To God about this & ask the Blessed Mother to pray for you too. You can do the same with the Divine Mercy Chaplet, pray that that Jesus will protect you & get rid of what ever is bugging you.
* Ask a Priest to Bless your home.
I have heard from many people that this really works
*Wear a Brown Scapular
read up on this, it is really cool.
*Wear a St. Benedict Cross
This has a really cool story behind it. (It has the prayer of exorcism wrote on it which I thought was really cool) My Priest says that this is very good for scaring off evil spirits
*Get some Holy Water & Blessed Salt
This is very easy take a gallon of water or a box of salt to your priest, he will be glad to bless it for you
Sprinkle the Holy water/salt around your home Praying "in the name of Father & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit Amen"
*Wear a Miraculous Medal
*Keep your Bible handy
If it is evil it will not like the Bible or anything Holy for that matter.
* Pray to St. Micheal
You could also wear a St.Micheal Medal to.
*Wear a Crucifix
My priest says that this really helps
* tell it that it is not welcome & to leave in the Name of Jesus Christ
One last thing PRAY PRAY PRAY you can never pray too much. I am not saying that you should do all of this stuff thats up to you, these are just the things that I have been told help with evil spirit problems. Always remember that it is not the object it's self that does this it is God's Power who protects you. (Basically it's NOT magic its faith)

Ok here are some other things that I have heard help

* tell It that It is not welcome in your home & that it needs to go to the light. I am not sure what this really means but a friend of mine told me it works. She also says to light a white candle.

*Smudging your home & your self
I have been told that Smudging will help, but you have to have faith for it to work. You can get a Smudge stick from any Native American store. You can make it a Christian thing just say prayers as you Smudge. I think you have gotten some good answers on your question about Smudging.

Alway remember to make sure that the Paranormal things that happen in your home are not just normal things
(Example: the wind blowing open a door that was not properly closed) Always look for other reasons behind why weird things happen, most of the time it can to linked to normal non paranormal event. (But always keep an open mind both ways)

First, you have to be certain that you have spirits. Could it be the natural creeking of the house? Could it be gas or water pipes? Could it be an animal under the floor or in the walls?

Second, you need to study the history of the building to determine if there is a cause for there being a spirit present. Did someone die there? Was someone there before you involved in the occult?

Once you have these answers, you will ahve an idea of what action to take. If it is a ghost or another type of spirit, you have to determine why it is there in order to know how to get rid of it.

Some so called ghosts are remnants of enegy of people who died suddenly. These just need to be layed to eternal rest, in a loving way. Some are actually enery generated by children. Poltergiersts are now believed to be child generated. Nobody has come up with a way of dealing with them. They tend to be of a mischievious nature. Some however can`t be classified, they seem to remain, either attached to a piece of land or attached to a family. It is said that if the land has been cursed, it will be haunted. An example of this is houses biult on a right of way. Families too can be cursed, normally by gypsies who have been wronged. It seems to take three such curses to make it stick, and it can only be removed by the one who put it there. Sorry I can`t be of greater hepl.

I saw Sylvia Browne on Montel Williams and she said tell the spirit to go to the light and if you have sage put some in a bowl, light it wih a match and let it smoke and go into the room[s] where it was the most and that is supposed to cleanse the spirits soul out of the room.

I am Cherokee and Shawnee American Indian. Get a pottery bowl. Put Sage, Cedar, Sweet Grass in the bowl. If you smoke use Sage, Cedar, Tobacco. You burn this in the pottery bowl. Take the pottery bowl to the East to West. North to South in your home in every room. This will rid the negative energy.

There are variations but they all boil down to telling it/them that they aren't welcome and they need to leave. You have to mean it, and you may have to get with the other people in your house but they will be forced to listen. Some will feed off of fear, so if this frightens you, you will have to take care not to show that.
