i recently saw a local news segment where the only thing the guy used to stop bugs was regular baking flour. Has anyone tried this? By the way his vegetable garden was beautiful!

I've used flour to kill the cabbage loopers on my cabbage. If I see evidence of the caterpillers,I sprinkle it on lightly after it rains or when the cabbage is wet with dew. When they start to crawl up from where they've been hiding, they get pasted & die from suffocation.

That's good news. I've noticed the ones I spot in flour products are always dead, too.

Also, I've learned that a mixture of dish detergent and water do a good job sprayed on aphids and other small insect pests. ( And it doesn't seem to bother those ladybugs that snarf-up aphids, either.)

i have not tried it, but if i wanted a good solution to the problem, and i heard it works, then id give it a shot, why not? flour is a natural thing, no chemicals, and if it works, sounds great! good luck with it.

Angel, thank you for the chuckle. You said:

What went through my mind was "They get wasted!"
