A warrant can be issued for their arrest... and will most likely be served on their next traffic stop.
My advice:Pay the ticket.

In most areas, if you fail to pay the tickets or show up in court on the designated date, a bench warrant can be issued for your arrest, and you license will be suspended. The police don't routinely go looking for you in this case, but if you are ever stopped for any reason, the warrant will show and you will be arrested. You would have to appear in court before you could receive an actual sentence.

If you got "a jail sentence", you would get arrested.
In most places, unpaid traffic violations generate a bench warrant if not paid for a period of time...then one day when pulled over for an infraction you would be cuffed and taken to jail. You'd be booked, given a court date and released.
If you've got unpaid tickets, it would be best to set up a payment plan of some kind. Most municipalities allow you to pay as little as 10 or 20 dollars a month until paid off.

I believe they would be arrested first, then go to court for a trial with a judge, then perhaps a jail sentence if they don't pay the fines.
A judge may give them a probated sentence if they are able to pay the fines or allow them to be paid off.
I am unsure about any laws and have only heard these things.

ahh yes! He or she will get a warrant, which put in jail and some one have to bail out, going to court to answer the charge pay heavy fine which waste alot of time! It is cheaper by just going to the court and pay the fine. In and out done! You did not say what was the traffic tickets are! Good luck!

In most cases there is a bench warrant put out for that person and should that person be pulled over for anything else, the would be taken straight to jail.
I suggest you pay the ticket.

omg, do people really think a cop wont arrest you for a warrant, how idiotic.....i work at a bail bondsman company, and i see it everyday...here in texas, it is call a capius profine, pretty much a warrant that is not bondable due to a payment plan being made already.....depends on the jurisdiction, but yea, they will take you in. if possible, call the court, try to work something out, here, if you pay half, they will put the rest on a payment plan, since they see you are at least trying to do something with it

I can tell you from personal experience that a person WILL be arrested for unpaid tickets. You will be booked and treated just like the crack dealer they just brought in. Probably put in the same cell.
Been there, done that.

It depends what kind of traffic laws they broke, and how lazy or bored the cops are in that area. But generally, no.
