10x-1/4=9x+3/8
10x-9x=1/4+3/8
x=1/4+3/8
x=2/8+3/8
x=5/8

10x-9x = Â¼+3/8

x = 2/8+3/8

x = 5/8

this one is too easy

10x-1/4=9x+3/8
first lets move the terms so we can combine them
10x-9x=1/4+3/8
then when you combine the terms you get
x=5/8

plug answer in to see if it works
10(5/8)-1/4=9(5/8)+3/8
50/8-2/8=45/8+3/8
48/8=48/8
6=6
yes it works
