Looking at you age and smoking history, I would prefer not to use the 2 packs of pill regime. This leaves norithisterone, which does not significantly increase the blood clot risk.

By the way, ever thought of giving up smoking?

are you on Birth Control Pills? if so when you are supposed to stop taking them (and your period usually starts) just start taking another package of pills.... you won't get your period that month. If you are not on BCP then I don't know what else to tell you. The only thing the DR might be able to give you to "delay or stop it would be like the Depo shots that are a form of birth control that you don't get you period while you are on the shots. Another thing is that November is several months away and I know my period "shifts" a day or two each month... maybe it will shift enough that it will be the week before or the week after....

You can be prescribed the contraceptive pill which you just take the packs back to back without a break. I was told by my GP that it was safe to do this for 6 months but then to have a break so you did have a period. You will need to start taking the pill soon so that it can get into your system to allow you to control when you next have a period. Go to your GP and discuss this - I'm sure he/she will help.

The pill sounds like the obvious choice used short term and continuously but it seems there are other ways to skip a period. Check out the link:

Talk over the options with a family planning doc (ask the receptionist to get you an appointment with the doctor most sympathetic to your problem!)

If you go on the pill and instead of taking the 7 placebos or taking a break you go straight to the next pak you will not have your period but the doctor needs to prescribe it and smokers should not take them.

My doctor gave me birth control pill to help my cycle in general, and it caused me to have a period for a month strait!!!! She could have prescribed something else to completely stop everything, but would not simply because i am a smoker. She gave me what she could, and it was more trouble than what it was worth. I have also tried the Depo shot, also to no avail.

go to your doctor now, he can give you pills which you take maybe a month before and it will change when you have your period, delay it for a couple of weeks.

if you take birth control pills you can skip the week off and just take the next months series without the break that will keep you from starting.

Its really not wise to be messing with your body like that.
You may find that your period won't be exactly at that time anyway, it is a few weeks away
Just my opinion ma'am
