If you recall "Simpsons Treehouse of Horror VIII", in an story called "Fly vs. Fly", Bart fused Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper into Homer's Teleporters and fused to form a CatDog, with the other halves a monstrosity...sort of.

Which brings me to this question, is Catdog, which was on Nickelodeon a Simpsons ripoff before the series premiered, or did CatDog come first before "Fly vs. Fly"?

In short, which of the CatDog genre came first?

Catdog premiered in October of 1998.

Simpsons Treehouse of Horror VIII aired in October of 1997.

However, I would say that Catdog is more a ripoff of The Odd Couple, than that episode of The Simpsons.

well, fox owns nickelodeon, so that tree house of horror would count somewhat as a pilot

Well, which one aired first? That would help. Doesn't mean that's the answer, but it might be.
