For smokers only...?

Would you willingly stop smoking around someone who is pregnant if they asked you... even going outside while at your own house?

I am pregnant... and the answers are really shocking me. I always thought it would be rude to send someone out of their own house to smoke.

I would never ask someone in their own house to step outside.

I'm male though. and thusly cannot get pregnant

If someone that was pregnant came to my house though, they wouldn't even have to ask. I'd step outside of my own house out of respect.

but If I was pregnant, I might think twice before going to a smokers house.

Just yesterday, I was in a public park, in the open air, minding my own business talking to my wife. We sat at least 100 feet away from the park on a hill, and this woman (the only one in the park, along with her three kids) came walking up to me and told me that she would like me not to smoke in front of her kids because they were autistic.

I said no. I won't. there are no laws stopping me, its in the OPEN air, I'm far away and that smoking doesn't effect autistic children any more than normal people.

She also drove a van and was obviously obese as well as all three of her children.

I asked her what she though her choice in diets for her children where going to do to them in the long run and asked her to quite driving her van, to cut down on pollution , and ride the bus like I do.

Then she proceeded to ask me if I lived in the neighborhood.

I asked what difference does it make. She said that it was HER park and she pays taxes there.

well. I do live in that neighborhood and I do pay taxes as well.

anyway. She said she'd call the cops if I didn't quite smoking at the park.

I am the smoker of the house and I always go outside to smoke or in the garage. The kids don't smoke and I don't want everything in the house to smell. It also depreciates the value of your house when you go to sell.

Yes of course, I have been sent out side ever since I had kids, I do not believe that other people let alone women that are pregnat should be any were near my habit, I never smoke in my own house or any one elses.

Totally. I would never smoke around someone who was pregnant or anyone that asked me not to. If its my right to smoke, its their right not to.

I will honor not smoking inside but I draw the line at not being able to smoke outside...

Yes, my father smoked while I was growing up and my mother didn't he always went outside becuase she didn't like the smell and did'nt want us kids to breathe it in.

I wouldn't smoke around them anyway, but yes, I would respect them and thier future baby. No questions asked!

I already do. Also, I won't smoke around anyone who doesn't smoke, if I know that it would bother them. I can wait to have my cigarette later.
