Does anybody know what movie this is from the late 80s or early 90s?

The movie is about two teenagers that are dating. They are in a gas station and a man comes in and robs it. The man goes to shoot the girl but the boy jumps in the way and is shot dead. The rest of the movie the teenage boy keeps poppin up as a ghost and in the end he goes to prom with her as a ghost. Does anyone know what movie this is? I think it's from the early 90s or 80s

I am 100% positive that it is not the movie Ghost.

It's definitely not Ghost (there's no gas station involved, and as mentioned, they're not teenagers).

But it sounds a lot like My Boyfriend's Back (1993)... check the link, it seems to fit your description!

It is the answer above, My Boyfriend's Back. I have it and have been watching it since I was little. Good movie. He isn't a ghost though, he is a zombie and he comes back to go to Prom with her and he starts wanting to eat people.

It sure sounds like Ghost, but they weren't teenagers, and they don't go to a prom. He does dance with her in the end though.
