Mixed feelings. It seems I just get them to behave like humans should, then they go back to school. In one day they forget all the stuff that it took me all summer to teach em. Plus getting them up and ready for the school bus before I go to work, well. I don't know if HAPPY is the word I would use.

Happy? yes,as a single mother.Enjoy making breakfast/waking'em up sending 'em off,have mommy time alone,back to pickin'em up,helpin w/ homework,whippin up sum dinner grub,sendin'em 2 bed...Just 2 do it all over again tomarrow,I wouldn't change it.Precious moments, w/ all the other things that tag along in the package deal.

I'm not. I hate to see September come, I enjoy this time I have with my son. My daughter has already graduated and flown the nest so I cherish every moment I possibly can. I am anxious to get back to work and see all the kids as I work in a school.

I'm actually torn about this - happy not to have to hear "I'm bored" and "can you drive me ...." but then that will only be replaced by fights over homework and calls that she forgot her lunch, homework, gym uniform, etc. and can I please drive back over to school and drop it off for her
plus, she is starting high school and needs to be at school 30 minutes earlier than last year - had enough problems getting her up then LOL

sort of... I love lazy summer mornings. No kid lunches to pack and hours of down time with the kids. But, I work in a school and I love my job. So I'm happy to be going back to work.

I don't know that it makes a difference in MY life, but I am happy cuz I want my kid to have the interaction with other little ones and learn something...all day with the grandparents must be boring.

I know my mom is happy that my sisters aregoing back to school soon. I want be starting college until next spring.

My kids has been in school for two weeks, and I am so happy I could almost run around the house with no clothes on.

Sigh we started Monday and I swear it feels like Friday my GOD I am tired already my mom is super happy though plus she is on vacation

I think that every parent longes whole summer long for that blessed first day of school. I am not saying that they don't love their kids but school gives a nice breather from them.
