What video game includes an insanity meter and will actually 'shut off' if insanity is high enough?

Other creepy things are supposed to happen as the insanity meter fills up (ex. flies appear on the screen, the lights turn on and off, ghosts or figures appear). I'm pretty sure it's a first person shooter. What game am I thinking of?
