Reaching out, lending a hand, offering of yourself is always a bit frightening at first. At least it is till you find out what the hand is asking for.
Mostly, it's beautiful to be able to help someone else. This is a win-win situation. We feel better about ourselves when we help others, and they are happy to know they have a true, caring friend.

That pretty much is exactly what it is. But scary and unknown things can be exciting and I love beautiful things so when I see a hand and wonder how far it can reach I can't help but try to find out.

It's beautiful, but not scary. Perfect love cast out fear of reaching out to people, and if you are rejected then don't be offended. You did nothing wrong. Reach out again because often your reward is worth more than gold.
Jesus said, "if you give a cup of water in My name, it is the same as if you gave Jesus a cup of water." A cup of water for Jesus would reap many rewards. Reach out and touch someone. Do not fear.

I have never experienced reaching out as scary.
Sometimes it is a little intimidating or unsure.
Like today I went with a group of people to read stories to a group of preschool kids. I had never been in the building before and have never read to kids since mine were little, about 20 years ago.
But I just went and did it, I wouldn't say it was fun or beautiful, but interesting. The kids were cute and inquisitive.
But I like to help people, no matter who they are, really, so I would tend to think reaching out is beautiful.

Yes it is. It is scary because you never know what or to whom are you reaching out to, therefore you can't know if it is safe or not for you. ON the other hand the bravery that makes one to reach out is beautiful and hopefuly there is a lot of people out there strong and brave enought to reach out to others.

Yes, it's both. And when i'm scared, I say a prayer then reach out as far as i can. I'm always amazed at what i get. Say your prayer, then reach. If your prayer is said first, then God will always be there to ensure you're touched in a positive way.

Yes, and it is a lot of other things all at the same time. However, one must allow oneself to become vunirable in order to get past it and enter into "love's threshing floor", as Gibran so philosophically puts it. But then the most important part is quoted, "But if in your search you seek only loves peace and loves pleasure; then it is better that you go out of loves threshing floor where you will enter a seasonless world where you will laugh but not all of your laughter and weep but not all of your tears."

Hi friend,
There are always 2 sides to "reaching out". It can either lead to "failure" or it can lead to "success". There are so many things to reach out. Reaching out for friends & reaching out for love means either you got "rebuffed / hurt", or you got into a "most beautiful long lasting relationship"..Reaching out "for your dreams" can lead to " financial failures"..but just as sweet lead to "financial abundance". Reaching out is like playing a basketball game. A lot of them out there are "scared" to take a shot, fearing it will miss..But how can we score points if we don't take a shot. I believe Michael Jordan missed more shots than any NBA player, but on the flipside, he also swished in more shots because he dared to "reach out" for his goal.
