I agree people should be given a second chance. However, he makes light of the crime. He considers it as bad as hunting. He said Michael received more negative press than if he killed a human being. He didn't do THAT, so how can he compare that. The only sports figure that I can think of that was accused of murder was OJ. When OJ was accused of murder, you cannot say Vick received more negative press.

Is Michael Vick oppressed?

Has anyone violated his civil rights, or discriminated against him?

WHY does the NAACP leader in Atlanta have anything at ALL to say about Mr. Vick's travails?

I guess the NAACP in Atlanta doesn't have any poor, oppressed, disadvantaged minorities to look after anymore; they can afford to spend their time worrying about and helping people who don't need any help; nothing they say will help either the dogs or Mr. Vick's career.

I suggest the NAACP not waste its efforts on Mr. Vick. We'll just notice how irrelevant they've become.

These are two very different things, but I couldnt help but think about Kobe Bryant and the little mess he got into in Colorado.
I thought for sure it was the end of his career. Not true. Be unfaithful to your wife-no problem. Now Vick kills dogs and the NAACP spokesman thinks we should just give the poor guy another chance. Is that really the image the NAACP wants for a black man? Do whatever you want and get away with it because to say any different must be racism. That's quite a corner they're painting themselves into.

typical of the NAACP to make light of any wrong doing by a person of color.and to say it was a dog is way off base! there were 66 dogs we know of ,how many died in these brutal fights they staged and how many were killed because they were considered weak or did not care to attack or kill the other animals!!! it is not a crime to be made light of there is something missing in a persons soul who can take enjoyment or pleasure from the death or suffering of even a poor animal!!! many serial killers started out being truly cruel and sick to poor defenseless animals.these people are no different because they play football or any other sport.if anything they should be more accountable for the example they set to others including young children who hold them up as heroes!!!!OJ got away without doing prison time but nobody and i mean nobody with half a brain thinks he is innocent!!!! GOD will judge every secret thing and you will be held accountable!!!!! football players, actors singers it makes no difference--- you shall all be judged by the one and only living GOD!!! AMEN!

Well, I consider hunting bad too, or atleast unnecessary in this day and age where we don't have to go out and shoot our own meat. That's what grocery stores are for. HOWEVER, atleast some people eat the deer meat.
Dog fighting and killing has NO rationale whatsoever. It's not like people are going to eat the dog, or do anything with its hide or other parts.
In the end I think the NAACP is standing up for a criminal because he's black.

I don't care about their statements any more than I care about Vick. The truth is that Atlanta Falcons management is jumping for joy to ber rid of him without an expensive buyout.
He hasn't made them a contender much less a winner.

This is kind of a moot point, but by the time Vick gets out of prison, he wont make be in shape to make any NFL team.

its all stupid this guy did it to himself. as for as bad as killing a human being i would put his life lower than a dog life or any of his buddys that turned on him. yes a dog is more important. think about this if you had the money that man has would you be at a dog fight? hes a waste of human life and needs to be locked up they should lock him up at the spca with the 53 dogs they have to put down. i live in newprotnews virginia. this guys a waste and he lied .

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Anybody who steals people's pets to feed them to their fighting dogs or punishes dogs by peeling their skin off is deranged. Not only does he not belong in the NFL, he doesn't belong in society.
