Lol I love how everyone says "both".
When they probably do not have street smarts, real street smarts are a rare thing, it is not just being on the street at night and avoiding a large group of large black males.
It is knowing when you have to avoid them when you can walk past them and when you should try to sell them something lol, it is more than just common sense although it is alot of that, it is also knowing people and alot of the places in your area.
I am actualy mostly book smart, and a little itty bit street smart but sadly more so than most of my friends lol.
I guess some common examples that you are not as street smart as you think may be if you have ever been pick pocketed, mugged (when it could have been avoided or there was anyway you could have gotten away before he pulled the gun), if you have been carjacked in a bad part of town, someone stole things from your car when it was in plain sight. Really most of these are common sense, but people who are street smart really have an instinct for these things, ahha! That is the word, it is an instinct or 6th sense for these thing.

I am probably more book smart than street smart but in this day and age you need to be a combination of both to be a great player and a success.
