When a couple who DO NOT have any kids get divorced, do they still keep in touch through the years???? Im in between on this one..I mean it's obvious that once you marry someone that you care for them very deeply, so I guess a card or phone call every so often would be okay you know, just to see how they are doing. But then again you clearly wanted this person out of your life for one reason or another. Im not married or never been divorced. Im just curious.

I have kids so for me its a yes, I guess it really depends on how the marriage ended..if you had a mutual and smooth divorce I don't see why you cant remain friends a lot of couples remain good friends post divorce just b/c they both realize that its better this way, however if the divorce was one-sided I don't think it would be a good idea just b/c you don't want to give the idea of false hope of a reconciliation or keep stirred feelings around that will only keep you with a mind of what ifs..

I have been divorced from my first husband since 1996. I have not seen him or heard from him since. Not because we divorced on bad terms. I have heard that he has a new wife and a couple of kids. I moved on, got married to a wonderful man and have an awesome son. My new husband is so much better than my first husband.

For some it's okay, I personally haven't been divorced, but I feel awkward about keeping in touch with the ex's me and my hubby have had. My mother in law and father in law keep in touch, she has remarried, he hasn't,Me and my hubby kinda find it funny. It's because there's kids and a grandchild involved.

I think it's best to leave the ex-spouse alone following a divorce. The chance might still exist to jump back into the bed together if both are lonely and that's not good.

I was married for twenty years and no we do not keep in contact after divorce. I would be okay with it as you say lots of history there, lots of water under the bridge, but I guess he is not that mature..

Well if I didn't have kids and I split up with my husband I don't think I would be able to keep in touch with him, it would just be too weird. I love my husband deeply and there's no way we will split up but if we did I would not be able to keep in touch, especially if he had a new girlfriend - I wouldn't want to know about it!

When I got a divorce I did not want any kind of contact with him. It was over.
I wanted to get on with my life and the best I could do was be away from him.
I am happy

my husband did when we were dating it kinda bugged me but now that we are married I told him how i feel about it so he doesn't' talk to her anymore. He said they were always good friends but I don't understand that because if you were friends then why did she have enough disrespect for the "friendship" to continually cheat on you I think your ex's need to stay ex's it didn't work out for a reason so leave it
