That would depend on what you are use to. If you are use to a lower thread count then they should feel softer. However if you are use to a higher thread count then they won't be as soft.

Most people agree that a higher thread count is more comfortable than a lower one. Over the past several years, people have created a demand for high thread count sheets, pillow cases, etc. At first people liked 400, then 600, and now the trend is 1,000 thread count! However, thread count is not the only thing we should think about when determining the quality, or lack of it, in bedding. Some of the other things that we should think about include: yarn size, Fiber quality, finishing and then of course thread count and construction Yarn size refers to the fineness of each yarn. Products with finer yarns are often light and breathable. Products with high thread count usually have fine yarn. Fiber quality is another important factor. By far, 100% cotton is the most common fiber that we use. Other popular fibers are silk and linen. FInishing is also a vital sign. Products that are finished with quality are always mercerized and singed. singeing is when all the little fuzzies are burned off so that they don't come off in your bed later. Mercerizing is when the product is prepared to be dyed. this also increases strength and the iridescence of a fabric. And then thread count is simply the number of threads per square inch. So before you choose your sheets, think about all these factors, the choice is yours!

600 thread count is pretty good and they are more durable ! If you take care of them they will last a long time... I have 1000 thread count sheets I got from Bj's wholesale for around $80 I love them.. They are so soft and comfortable especially in the winter time...

I think you would be very comfortable. Crisp, durable and you hardly need a blanket in the summer ( if your central US that is) 300 count suits me, plus its more affordable. I wonder how high a thread count can get?
