I'm a drummer. I can twirl with can tell how to twirl a drumstick properly. You twirl it in between your index (#1) and your middle (#2) fingers. This takes a lot of practice to do in the beginning. When I first started learning it 20 years ago...
it took me about a week to finally do it sucessfully.

Start off real slow...until you get it...then increase your speed over time till you can do it fast without dropping ths sticks.
Also, switch hands too...try your right hand first....then try your left next....and than try your right hand again...then try your hand again too. Then....when you can do that.

Then you try twirling both sticks in both hands at the same time. This is very, very tricky and takes lots of pratice to master....but, its not impossible. You have to have incredible focus and skill to do this.

Also, make sure your twirl is nice and even...you don't want a sloppy twirl otherwise it'll fly off and hit you in the face sometimes. SO BE VERY VERY CAREFUL when twirling
the sticks in both hands.

I've had this to me a couple of times and it hurts when a drumistck hits you in your face....you can poke out your eyes if you're not careful.

I don't use Batons so I assume they are much heavier than drumsticks so I caution that you be even more careful with tiwriling them. Good luck
