Im due a boy in 3weeks. My 2yr old son is called Kai which i love now but wasnt sure at first. This time i kind had Joseph, Joe for short, in mind. My partners mam said i cant call him that coz its horrible and its quite upset me. It wasnt a definate name, but can anyone give me any ideas please.

I like your other child's name, Kai. (Pronounced Kay?) Joseph is a common name, yet very, very respectable. I know a lot of Josephs, and some people with Joseph as a middle name, and all nice people. This name works well with any middle name, too! Some other suggestions I have are:

I like the name Isaiah. It's origin is Hebrew meaning - God is salvation BUT please ... consider this ... this child is a rare & beautiful gift & a reflection of love shared initmatly between you & your partner not others. No one but you & your partner should have any say in the decission of naming.
Joseph is a wonderful name as well. The name is Hebrew as well meaning - He will enlarge. This should be a time of joy f not a time of sorrow.

Your mother-in-law said that? You have every right to be upset there- that is not her child. It's her grandchild- parents trump grandparents in naming. Tell her that (er...politely. We all know the wrath of mother-in-laws) Joesph is a wonderful name, and you should have every right to call him that.
If you don't want to call him that (note: if YOU don't want to), than some boys names I like are...Jack, Mason, Sawyer, Hunter, Shane, Robert, Hudson...

there are so many adorable little boy names. personally, i really love the names ori, jonathan, justin, sacha (yes it is a girls name too, but still i like it--just like sacha baron cohen, even though he has been around for almost a decade) etc. hope this helps
