I'm glad someone chose to answer a meaningless question. Obviously the whole surface (4 pi r^2) moves no matter how many spins you give the ball. But what's a "transfer" of surface area? How does it become volume (doubled, yet)? It can't be about translation of an area sweeping out a volume since you've specified it's rotation only. And what's Steve's second answer? It sure isn't volume, it's area scaled by something, of heaven knows what significance. Is this a mass-hypnosis thing? Anybody out there?
