Americans in general are fine. It's George W. Bush and his administration that have an agenda which they will not be swayed from. When things go wrong they blame everyone else so that they can carry on regardless. He blackmails Americans with his 'If you're not with us ,you're against us routine'.The rest of this planet would dearly love the Good Old America back,we miss you.
Sorry Millie but I think you'd find the only ones left would be native American Indians.Which country will you be going back to then?

Not all Americans feel that way. The more education an individual has allows that person to use critical thinking and objective reasoning. A current course in World Geography would help people see these generalizations in a realistic sense.Too many people all over the world rely on biased media for information instead of seeking out the truths of other nations.

You've just done exactly what you are accusing the Americans of doing - you are basing an opinion of the American people purely on their country's politics - the same thing you think is wrong when pointed in the direction of the Innocent Iraqis you mentioned. There are many innocent Americans too!

It has gotten much worse than it used to be in American politics. Maybe it's a Baby Boomer thing. Clinton made a fool of himself, and Bush has managed to be the most incompetent president in American history. If either could have admitted to himself and the nation that he'd fouled up, it would have saved us all a lot of trouble.

You say you hate making generalisations, then immediately make a generalisation. Are you trying to say that America is responsible for all the things you listed? It seems to me that America gets plenty of fingers pointed at them for just about anything going wrong in the world. I am not sure what you mean by your last statement about supporting your military dictators. Why cant every country take responsibility for their own government and their policies. To infer that an American President rules the entire world does not say much about your own sense of responsibility or your faith in your leaders.

I'm not so sure we blame everything on others, but we do have a tendency to mind other people's business when we should MYOB. It started 1/2 century ago with Korea and has trickled down ever sense.

If you hate making these types of generalizations, then don't. And just for the record:

1. The Iraqi war was Bush's fault.
2. Afghanistan isn't a failure, they're a backwater. The Taliban is gone, and they still need our help.
3. Unless India now includes all 7 continents, the global warming being their fault is just ridiculous. I don't know where you got that crap, but the only time I've ever even heard India mentioned, it was in connection with Slurpee's or IT help.
4. TRADE DEFICIT = G. W. Bush, DEAD pets and children = China. That's hard fact, so if you don't like it too bad.
5. The lack of control in central Asia is the fault of the former USSR, NOT Russia. To be honest, I'm not even sure it's all that out of control, at least not in comparison to any other part of the world.

I'm an American, and I promise that I don't give a crap about who's at fault about any of the global issues that we face today. All I care about is the fact that it has to be fixed, and everyone ends up turning to the US and saying "what are you going to do to fix this!", THEN trys to beat us up for it.

When a country exerts as much power as America does, politically, militarily, economically and culturally it is bound at times to do things that cause resentment. But it is given the label anti-Americanism as though there couldn't be any excuse for it.

2007-08-22 11:05:15 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

I never heard of blaming India for global warming, that's something new to me. I believe that the way countries who end up that way is because of their leaders in government.

You can't say all Americans blame all those that you mentioned. You see, you have leaders here in America who believe in global warming that it is man-made. Not true.

People can blame people for anything, but in reality people don't want to be accountable for their own actions. Just like you have Arabs blaming Jews for all their crimes they commit.

So, if you hate making these types of generalizations, then don't make them. But you have a right to your opinion, just as I do.
