Well if I were a single person (which I am not)
I'd want you to be yourself....don't come up to me and grab any body parts,,,,just ask if you can sit with me.
If I were looking.... ( which I am not)
I wouldn't give "Him" the time of day, if "He" didn't look about 58-60 yrs old, have his own vehicle, be financially secure, look well groomed, and a beard (white), with white hair,,,,,glasses is a must, it shows they read a lot...and makes them look very distinguished. He'd have to have a pleasant voice, not raspy, like smokers get..... He'd have to be a non- drinker, and a non-smoker, and not do any drugs...at all.
He'd have to have a good sense of humor.
He could approach me by saying something that went like
"Hey? Can you please pinch me"? Cuz I think I just died and went to Heaven, cuz I'm seeing an angel" !!!!
That would get my attention ASAP.
ANd if he fell under the above criteria.,,,, in the age and looks dept.
If none of that was there,,,,and If I were looking, (which I'm not),,,,, and if I were single ( again I am not),,,,,,, and only then. So, yeah, I'm very picky and choosey..... That's why I'm still married to my best friend now for over 33 years...... and that's not gonna change anytime soon, unless I die.

Some guys like to use a cheesy line (you know...those over-tired lines from movies and TV shows.) You don't want to do that. There's nothing wrong with a funny clean joke or anything humorous, followed by introducing yourself and asking her name and that of her friend(s) with her. You can also check out that show on VH1 called "The Pickup Artist" The leader/host, Mystery, is no hokie guy. And his purpose is not to get laid, but to help other struggling men learn HOW to be able to approach and converse with a variety of women. If you get yourself a girlfriend out of it, great! The Pickup Artist comes on Monday nites, I think. Good luck!

but the compliment cant be cheesy or a chat up line... it has to be a conversation starter lol. but a comment that makes someone feel special lol.
