Lampard may score the odd goal, but he adds absolutely no influence to the team. The best I've seen him was in 2004 (Euro 2004 for that matter) but these days he just can't be bothered. Why put him in the side? Hargreaves and Carrick have already proved an effective partnership at United.

Alan Smith has had plenty of chances, and has failed to demonstrate what he is capable of in them. Why play him if he can't score for England? he's never been the same since his injury at Anfield
McLaren should be sacked and Venables should take his place - he's the only one that can inspire the team!

Get rid of Beckham I say, we'll never win anything while we are fielding ten men and a coathanger. His "image" comes before football...can't say I've ever noticed him being anything but a space filler.
