Legally, he can't without your consent. If the bank gives receipts for deposits, they may show a balance. At many banks, you can request a comment by attached to your account that specifically states he is NOT authorized to know the balance. This may not help with deposit receipts. Try talking to your bank about this.

If you want him to be able to find out the balance, tell the bank he has your permission.

If he deposits your checks at the bank, the teller will give him a receipt that may show the balance of your account. I actually deposited a couple checks at Washington Mutual for my company and once in a long while, the teller will ask you if you're on the account. If you're not, he will mark the balance with a black marker so you can't see it. However, I don't recall seeing a balance in my Bank of America teller receipts.

Maybe - deposit slips sometimes list balances. But if he's not on the account and just asked the teller, he or she would not be allowed to tell him, although it might slip past.

You're an adult - why don't you make your OWN deposits?

Only if he is listed on the account. I could steal your account number but I would only be able to deposit money without any ID otherwise they would not give me access.

Usually not, unless you specify in writing that this is allowable. Its a privacy issue.

Hey Judy, maybe he's not able to make one particular depost and asked his dad to do it. I ask people for favors all the time. Grow up.
