Question

We have a daughter named Mercedes, she is 7 years old. Here's the catch ...... we are expecting our third child in 4 weeks and we LOVE the name Alexis. Honest opinion please. Do you think of two cars or did that not even come to mind until I brought it up?

Keep in mind they will be 7 years apart and not in school
together.

actually i was thinking what cute names and if im lucky enough to have another child mercedes would fit right in, our 10 month old is named madeline. i like alexis also who cares what anyone thinks. and by the way i work at a car dealership and i still didnt think of 2 cars!!!

Ok...honestly, the whole car thing didn't come to mind until you mentioned it. You have a very good point.

You said they won't be in school together, but you will still have to say to people, "We have two daughters, Mercedes and Alexis." ---if I had HEARD someone say that, then yes, I would have immediately thought about cars.

I don't think of two cars at all, but maybe thats just me. Honestly, when you first said Alexis, I thought that was really cute with the name mercedes, and it didn't even hit me they were both cars(yeah..maybe because i'm blonde!). Another name you could try is Alexia.
I think Alexis is a cute name, bottom line.

I thought of a car when i saw mercedes but I think alexis is adorable. From looking at everybody else's answers it doesnt seem like cars will be the first thing people think of when they hear the names. I think Alexis is adorable. Congrats on your expanding family!!

First off, I love the name Mercedes !! It's beautiful. As for Alexis, I would do it. I don't think it's horrible if you really love the name but I would try to avoid it if possible. Maybe Alexa or Alexandra instead? Or Alyssa or Allison?

Lexi maybe...Alex would be better, considering her sister's name. Since they won't be in school together, don't even worry about it.
