I think Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are ALL hype, no substance.

Polarizing figures often have high negatives and positives. They're like kimchee, love it or hate it, but few are ambivalent.
George W. Bush had screaming high negatives before he ran for president. Nothing compared to now, but if your "base" loves you for one party, you can be sure the other base hates you, hence the leads in the polls but high negatives.

Right now all of the measuring sticks, such as polls and media hype, are controlled by the liberals.
When the voter gets into the ballot box is when the real decisions are made. The American voter is not as stupid as the liberal media makes us out to be.
The ONLY poll data I believe is the 18% approval rating of Congress, not controlled by the Democrats. Imagine how much could be accomplished by Congress if it weren't an election year and they stopped trying to indict any Republican and stopped trying to impeach any Republican and stopped trying to slander any Republican and did what was best for the legal American citizen!

I'm not sure which negative marks you're talking about that are believed by anybody but far right conservatives. Nobody needs extreme elements of any party to win the Presidency.
