Could you believe this? What?

Question

Okay, so there's this chick who lives on my street. I always had a crush on her. She's hot.
BUT...
I swear, I thought she was white, but she's Latina.
I had no idea.
She looks like a regular white girl to me, but I just found out yesterday she's fully Mexican.

I am not being racist of judgemental, but this seriously tripped me out. Come on, you guys, you would be weirded out too.
She speaks very OC, if you know what I mean, and her blonde hair is actually natural, ocean blue eyes.

I found out when I went to her house and had dinner with the rest of the family. I guess they do look a bit more true to their roots, but she doesn't.

Any of you had friends like this? Neighbors?

Again, sorry if I sound narrow or whatever, but I was just real wowed.

Latinos arn't always your generic brown/tanned, dark haired beauty. They come in all colours but they have one thing in common. They share a common culture and language which allows them to be classified as a latino/latina. I bet you didn't know, but there are "black" latinos, "white" latinos "asian" latinos etc. Latinos can be anything. The only reason why people don't know about those people is that they're blinded by the sterotypical way a latino "should" look like. Did you know they got Barrio Chinos [chinese neighbourhoods] in Cuba, panama and other places? Did you know there are "black" dominicans, mexicans (yes, even mexicans, look it up if you don't believe me), colombians, panamanians etc? One of the greatest latina singers, Celia Cruz is pure latina but if you passed her on the street, i'm pretty sure you'd mistake her for a black woman. And Tego Calderon is pure peurto rican but looks black also. Doesnt matter though cause they're all latinos regardless of what they appear to look like on the outside.

Just because she's Mexican doesn't mean she isn't white. In the US we don't tend to make any distinction between races - we just call everyone Latinos. In fact, Latino is not a race and Latinos are as diverse as North Americans; some are white, some are black some are Indian. There's really no reason to be wowed.

Lots of Latinos have those characteristics, why do you think they give you an option when they ask if you are " white (non Hispanic) " that means there are white Hispanics.

I met a woman with naturally red hair and white as a ghost from Guatemala (her family traced back there for generation)

Alot of latina girls look white, you've never seen that before? weird. Ive seen many latinas with redhair and hazel eyes, they look completely white
