Your awesome!! Will yo marry me???I think the light on enough to see what you want to see! I mean too dim you can't see anything, right! Have him hold it for a little and then you hold it for a little this way you will both give different view points of what you like and what you want the other to see! Hot right! Then have the camera on the TV and go to work!!

A tripod will work. Don't use candle light. Depending on what kind of camera you have (chances are it is som kind of hand held, not a professional with an adjustable iris) you're not going to see the detail you want, unless that's the shot you are going for. Your camera may be able to compensate for lost light slightly, but it may not look that good.
Lighting for film is kinda tricky. The most light possibble is the best. Don't have your subject (you two) in front of your only light source. If you're camera has a light on it, don't have the camera too close or it will wash out the picture unless you have a correct filter.
It's best to have 3 sources of light (varying intensity depending on the look you are going for) you need a back light behind the subjects, a key light that will shine on the front of your sujects and a fill light to illuminate the middle ground.
Of course you're not making a Speilburg film so just go with the basics, fully illuminated subjecs from the front, not washed out or too close (imperfections in skin come out in harsh, direct, close light)
The best way to make it look better as far as editing: if you are switching positions, and you want a different shot, you'll have to stop the tape, adjust the camera, make sure you are both in frame, and hit record again.
It's tough when it's just on camera, and only two people who are also in the shot. Be creative.

Get a video camera with a tripod and a remote for zooming in. If you use a TV showing what the camera sees you can work on getting the best shots. If you don't get it right the first time you can keep practicing LOL!

You could go for a tripod and some good lighting. You may have to experiment before hand. Also, there are professional services that will allow you to do this in their studios with professional cameras and lighting. Yes, there would be at least one other person present, but this doesn't have to be intimidating unless you make it so. Good luck. Sounds like a good idea.

You could experiment with the lighting by taping a few minutes of nothing in particular from different points in the room (top of tv, bedside table, dresser, ect) and then watch it to see if the lighting is good. Think about your position as well, I wouldn't want to just see butts if it were me, so maybe side views.

Buy a tripod and mount the camera to it. Connect the camera to the TV so he can watch you when you are riding him and you can watch him when he is on top of you. It can be very turning on. Also if you camera has a remote control, use the room in and out button to adjust. Also keep enough lights on or less the recording will be very dark.

lol our video camera has a night setting. i proped it up and only had a small flashlight shining in our direction... it totally looked like night vision goggles!! it was fun and totally did the trick. oh and it was propped on the tv. im sure a candle would do the same thing. try it out before hand, you can always rewind and record over whatever your testing! good luck and enjoy!

How fun. Definitely get a tripod and I would also pick up a book on videography from your local book store. It will give you tricks about lighting, backdrops, props and all of those things. We did (sorry the title and author escape me at present but there are several) and have had a lot of fun making naughty movies. Enjoy!

put the camera on a tripod aimed right at the bed....that's the second best thing to do, the best thing would be to have somebody tape it for you so they can get different angles and what not but if you're not comfortable with that you really dont' have much choice

Think twice about it. Some day the video may come back to haunt you.
But, if you insist, then for best lighting do it outside. If that is not possible, do it in the room with the most light in the house.
