No one knows. We don't know where the universe ends, if it does, etc.
We could just be a molecule in somebody's fingernail in their universe.

It could be, weird q but it kinda makes sence. Theres no real way for someone to tell you that it is or isnt. The problems with qs like this is that people go crazy trying to figure out the univers, this is why people turn to religion. The human race will never understand the univers completly and thats the problem i have when trying to think about what it is. How far does the univer go and if there is an end to it then whats on the otherside of the end. Great, thank you, now youve made me think too hard.........dam

in the way we define an atom? No, definitely not. An atom is 10^-8 cm, known as a .1 nanometer. The universe is very very large. Now, it can be that our universe is just one of several, in a so-called 'multi-verse', and in that regard you could refer to it as an atomical portion, but you would have to change our definition

I have heard that at the moment of the big bang, the entire universe was supposedly the size of an atom.

Not an atom as we know it. BUT there is an alternate theory to black holes that has objects called Gravastars and we could be inside one of those.

The universe is one of those tiny bubbles you see rising up a glass of beer. As it rises, it expands until it reaches the top where it bursts open or is consumed.
I think of this every time I lift a pint.
Now, so will you.
