Because I don't want it in all the time anymore as it annoys me sometimes. I wanna be able to leave it out overnight and stuff but I was just wondering if I take it out for too long will it close up...(I've had it pierced for about a year now.) Is it the same as earrings so you can take them out and just leave them and they will go back in easily and stuff like that?

Thanks.x

No the belly button will quickly close up. Although it may not (for some) close up over night it is not a good idea to keep taking it out and putting it back in as this will lead to infection. For most people the belly button will close up completlely after 3 days - there are some however whereby their piercing remains open for months.

I had my belly button done for 4 years It fell out without me realising and the next day it had closed over. Saying tht I had my eyebrow and lip peirced for about a year and 4 years on I can still get the bars in if I try but never wear them. Why not just put thr bar in for a few seconds each day to make sure it does not close?

It would heal up within a few weeks but the longer it is out the harder it will be to get in. Also where you have only had it for a year it is still effectively a 'fresh' wound so will heal up easier than someone who say has had one for 10years. Also it depends on your own body. When i had mine done for about 2years i could only take it out for about 1hr before it started to close up.

Your best bet would to be get some of those plastic tubes you can put in the hole when the ring/ bar is out. they are only a couple of pounds and are like a bit of clear hollow tube which just keeps the hole open.

Not sure where you would get them though but i am sure you could find a source on the web.

It will eventually, at first try to put a bar in after a day or so just to get comfortable doing it. The more you do this the better then you will be able to leave it for a couple of weeks.

I think it depends on each individual, although that may sound funny, but some people heal quicker than others. I would think though that because you have had it for some time, that you would be able to remove it when you want without it closing!

If it's one year, yes you can for aout 2-4 days.
I think would be fine, I've had my 2nd hole pierced for 1.5 years and I don't wear it for like 1 week - 3 weeks. It never closes up.

i had mine peirced for 3 years, when i gained a little weight i thought it looked weird so i took it out. 2 days later i tried to put it back in, it was closed. but as with anything, i think the healing time is different for everyone. goodluck.

yes, it is just like peirced ears. you can take it out for a while, like up to three days, without worrying about it closing up.
