I took Sunrocket service for a year in March and paid thru my debit card . Now they are closing that company. How can I get my money back. My bank is saying that, since the transaction is older than 90 days they cant dispute that. Is there a way that I can get my money back?

Unless they will refund your $$, you are SOL....and our bank wont help. Your bank is correct...

You have found one of the major disadvantages of a debit card as compared to a credit card. The bank will not help you if there is a problem.

You can dispute the transaction by taking the co many to court. Consider the cost of an attorney as compared to the possible gain.

It is quite possible that Sunrocket has filed for bankruptcy. If that is the case there are many other creditors also seeking Money and the chances that you will get back any money are slim.

True, if you waited more than 90 days to dispute a transaction, it's too late. The bank isn't responsible since you did intend to make this transaction; it was made with your knowledge and consent.
However, you can and should contact the company to request a refund of your money. Call Sunrocket and ask the customer service department to refund your money (or cancel your service effective immediately and request that the unused portion of your payment be refunded). If they refuse, ask to speak to a supervisor, and keep asking and don't hang up the phone until they cave. If they are going out of business, they may not be able to refund your money at all, but if they are being bought out by another company, there should be funds available to appease dissatisfied customers.

If the company has gone bankrupt you will have to wait in line with anyone else out of pocket credit card and direct debits have guarantees but if you have paid up front for services you may have to sue through small claims to get anything but if they are banckrupt you may be limited to the compensation you receive.

Not thru your bank.

You could sue Sunrocket for a refund, but I suspect that won't do you any good either. Looks like you're just out of the money.

not from the bank -- depending on the amount your best bet might be the small claims court!!!
