Let's say I want to get rid of some mildew or mold in the caulking around my bathtub. Will hydrogen peroxide kill it?

Yes Hydrogen peroxide is an antifungal, it is also an antibacterial. It is not very good for caulking as it does not penetrate well. The best solution is the pull the caulking, scrape, dry, and recaulk.

No, but bleach will. If the stains are really bad, line the edge of your tub with paper towels soaked in bleach and let it seep in for a few hours.
