i was always told to carry several pads/pantiliners, an extra pair of underwear and pants
at your age i dont recommend tampons because you arent fully developed and and you may be uncomfortable because the tampons dont fit correctly

Just bring along a small pack of wipes and a couple of pads. I don't think you should wear panty liners right now because that's just a waste of money. You could start your period tomorrow but it may not be for another year... If you do forget to bring something on the day it happens, don't freak out. Just use hand napkins from the bathroom and go to the nurse for a pad. She's given them out a million times before =)

I would suggest a couple of pads, just in case, and maybe a small pack of wet wipes, and possibly a fresh pair of undies.
Don't try tampons yet. . not the first time.
Keep in mind that at 12, it's likely your backpack could be rummaged in by an inconsiderate boy.
If you decide not to pack feminine hygeine products, know that if your period starts while you are at school, you can either (1) call home with the excuse of "female problems" or (2) go to the school nurse - they always have pads because of this very reason.
And. . .in reference to the person who answered first, not everyone wears pantyliners all the time, so, no, you "shouldn't have already started wearing them"; it's not a requirement.

a sanitary napkin, some wipes and some clean underwear. usually a period starts and the girl isn't aware of it until she goes to the bathroom and finds blood on her panties. Encourage use of pantiliners now, but have her carry a package, like a freezer bag, with a clean pair of underwear, a sanitary napkin and personal wipes to clean up with.

pads AND tampons. When u get ur period the 1st time, it's awful & embarrassing, even tho no1 else nos. I think it would be best 4 her 2 carry both since she probably will want 2 choose, & not be forced 2 use 1 or the other.
Pads r uncomfortable 4 me, they make me fel self concious, on the other hand, many girls r 2 scarred 2 use a tampon.

well since your twelve your probably in 6th grade, beginning 7th and there may be some accidents such as leaving your book bag open or sombody going in there thinking its their bookbag or something else, so i would bring a pack of tissues and knowing you get it around 9-13 yaers old, i would not bring pads and put 2 tissues up between your labias [i think theyre called] and go check in the bathroom once a day too see if theres any blood and if there is, use toilet paper where the tissues were and put other toilet paper folded under it and when u get home tell your mom. good luck!

Just a couple pads. When you first get it, there probably won't be that much blood at the beginning. Don't worry. You'll be fine. (Also, Most school nurses will give you a pad if you need one)
