if your parents are too dumb to address this issue then they are creating a monster.

she's not your responsibility, although i see how you would be very concerned... talk with your parents.

It is a well known fact that girls go through some changes and not ll of them positive. The best thing is to show her without a lot of telling her. She may think that it is okay for her to be that way when it is not. She may come to you when you get ready to do something or go some where and you will just have to let her know that you do not want to be around her because with this new attitude things are hard to enjoy because she sucks. You are her sister and well who better to hear criticism from. Not just you. The youngers catch on fast. Do not worry she will get the picture. Mom and Dad may have to exclude her from a family function because her sassy ways make the family hard to enjoy. No one ikes to e left out and if she cannot be nice to you and your family then she's abusing her friends or picking up bad habits. Momma and daddy can eliminate that by limiting her time with friends outside of school. Then, lies make it hard for trusting and she needs to be held accountable for that she is 13 and knows better. Punishment(being grounded for 7 days out of the week, extra chores, overdose on family time) has never killed a child. As an older sibling you can have the biggest affect by letting her know the deal. I dont wanna be around you cause your attitude stinks. I dont want you going any where with me making me look bad because you have a jacked up attitude. Since she does not care about it then you either. She should make a big deal out of being treated so strangely then that opens the door for everyone to let her know that, that is how she does. Best of luck MD

What you have described seems to be some kind of stupid trend amongst teen girls that could be stopped by parental intervention. Most parents use the excuse that it's just a phase, and I guess it could be, but I don't remember going through it. She may find her way if you refuse to do things with her or take her places if she behaves like a total brat. Hopefully, she'll grow out of this quickly, but I think your parents should set her straight.
