grouch in your neighborhood. It does not matter now nice one is to him. At one time I thought he might be hard of hearing(wrong). Then I thought he might not speak english(wrong again). One neighbor said he thinks he is only interested in porn. Could this be, hes 81. I really could care less.

Yes, I do have a grouch in my neighborhood! It is weird because he is a younger man! He is a fireman and has started his second family.
My grandson, was out mowing on the riding mower and the firemen stood across the street, arms folded, glaring at him. I am sure it was displeaseing to Mr. Macho, to see a young man on a riding mower! However, my grandson was merely trying to help us out. Even so, he makes it his job to show his distaste for this youngster mowing on a mower instead of pushing one!
He should know that we got that for us! We are years older than this neighbor and yet, he will act like a jerk towards my grandson. We have waved at him and his wife and I do not think it has ever been returned. A simple wave!
So, I have learned to ignore Mr. Grouchy and wave when I feel like it anyway, Just because he wants to act terribly does not mean that I want to follow his example!

You don't say this old man has ever talked to you so how can you know he's a grouch?
I talk to my neighbors as little as possible except for HairNose and NumbN**s across the street and the only reason I talk to them is because they want to borrow tools all the time or pester me when I'm working in the front yard.
I watch their house for them and in fact watch out for all the neighbors' houses when they're away because I'm home most of the time. I pick up their mail at their request when they go on one of their fool's errands. I wish them no harm but I'm just not interested at all in their life or their story or talking to them.
No doubt I've got a reputation around here as the neighborhood grouch and, you know what, I don't care. Just leave me alone and I can promise you that I'll leave you alone. I got all the chums I can use right now. I suspect this 81 year old "grouch" feels the same way.

Yes I have a grouch in almost every neighborhood I lived in, maybe it's a standard rule. 'Yes,you can make a new subdivision, but or policy requires you to make sure one grouch per street moves in." I don't know he was either born a grouch, or maybe he was hurt by someone before. Good Luck.

How would the neighbor know he's only interested in porn? Maybe it's his personality that makes him appear to be a grouch. Once you get to know him, he may be a very nice person. If you don't get that chance, then leave him alone & respect his privacy.

OK. We have a perfect street. It's lined with beautiful fruitless mulberry trees and every house is yellow with a white picket fence.
Lots of old men talk out their a** about sex. It's probably not unsusal for them to get off on magazines or other pornish goodies. Maybe he has been hurt or lost his wife, like the guy way above me said. Give the old f**t a break. Like someone else said, "Someday we may be just like him".
The mail is late, I am expecting my copy of Hustler any day now!

Ok, if you do not like me, then YOU move..I'm staying put ! And I am not grouchy, I have just been irritated for 40 years...now leave me alone and go mow your grass !
And as for the neighbor who "thinks he is only interested in porn"...that neighbor I, personally, would stay away from....far away...lord only knows what he/she says about you behind your back ! Think about it. And, I certainly hope you have not repeated that nasty comment to anyone else in your neighborhood...that is really nasty !

As many people get old they can get this way and there is usually a reason.
From living with constant pain, fear of death, or having people take advantage of you, etc....Many seniors don't sleep and have lost their spouse among other things. They don't feel valued or useful and all these things add up after awhile.
After living for so long you tend to have issues and these issues cause you to have a bad attitude.
