Bobby Jenks did what only one other pitcher in history had ever done, while Garret Anderson became the third player in the last decade (along with Nomar and ARod) to drive in 10 or more runs in a game.

Based simply on the number of occurrences, I'd say that the consecutive batters streak is much more difficult to achieve no matter the span of time.

depends, cause you say 41 straight meaning the pitcher's streak is 41 batters of the last 41 retired this could be a relief pitcher. If a relief guy loggs a 1-2-3 inning a game, thats 10 and 2/3 innings pitched which has happened before and isn't that hard if your a good pitcher.

For 10 rbi a game, even if your the leadoff guy, lets say you get 6 at bats.

You would have to have runners on base and that would most likely come from the bottom of the order. Would have to cash in rbi's with atleast 3 at bats (assuming 2 are grand slams and you get a 2rbi double or 2 run homer). Would have to be an accomplished hitter that can hit a homer because most possible RBI from all hits (6) being singles would cash 12 atmost (2 in scoring position) The likelihood of having 2 guys on for every at bat if your the leadoff guy is slim to nil. So if your a 3-5 hitter, you would likely only get 5 atbats. Remember that hitting against multiple pitchers and getting the same results in a game is tough stuff, and considering you knock in a max of 8 in your first 2 atbats (2 grand slams), you would likely get intentionally walked. That would mean in your final atbats, you would have to have a bases loaded walk multiple times.

I'd say that to retire 41 straight batters is, because you could easily go 4 for 4 at the plate with runners on each at bat. No question. On the other hand if you were a closer and had, say 10 saves in a month with facing 4-5 batters each apperance then its almost as easy...your question opens it up when you say "in a months time span", and it also doesnt mean the pitcher was a starter.

I would have to go with retiring 41 straight batters. 10 RBI's is a lot but should the game go 14 or 15 innings you might have up to 7 or 8 at bats.

For a pitcher, I guess it would be easier to retire 41 stratight batters than drive in 10 runs, since no pitcher has ever driven in more than 9 in a game.

However, in general, in the Major Leagues it seems, it is much easier to drive in 10 runs in a game, as it has been accomplished 12 times now.

41 straight batters retired has been done only twice, over any span of time.

I would say that the 41 straight would be more impressive if it were done over a two day period but 10 RBI is one game, that takes everyone on the team contributing to give you that opportunity and you being locked in on multiple pitchers so I would say 10 RBI's.

41 consecutive retired. think about it. thats like a perfect game and then the next 4 2/3 innings perfect. 10 rbi could be 2 grand slams and a two run homer. three home runs have been hit in a game before.

Hmmm.... I would think 10-RBI's in a single game.

With a month to work on it - and coming in a relief pitcher... I can see facing 41 batters in a row without letting them get a hit.

41 straight batters........the gay hitters are much easier to get out(kidding).

The 10 rbi's is good but the hitter needs people to get on base in front of him to get the RBI's. Pitching is all on the pitcher. 41 straight hitters without a base hit or walk is insane.
