"President Bush's two-day summit with the leaders of Canada and Mexico, beginning today in nearby Montebello, is raising fears among some conservatives that the three governments are planning a European Union-style super-government."
"America is finished."

"Mexico and Canada are gone too.

"In their place: One massive country, the North American Union (NAU), bordered by the Bering Sea to the north and Guatemala to the south, the Atlantic to the east and the Pacific to the west.
"NAU citizens no longer spend dollars or salute Old Glory. They spend 'ameros,' and the flag that waves over its capitals shows the entire Western Hemisphere.
"The national borders of the United States have been forever erased. While that scenario may sound far-fetched, critics of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) warn that future could be here sooner than anyone realizes."

The power of the Euro is scary.

I live in Europe now, and two of my best friends are financial planners here. They say the Dollar has no chance of making any gains against the Euro for the next three years.

That may be good for U.S. exports, but the country is paying a fortune for imports. I think the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are seriously considering some sort of economic union, but not necessarily a political union like the EU.

This isn't something that will happen overnight. It will come gradually, in stages. At first, they'll propose an international currency, saying it will vastly increase the strength of all currencies. However, I doubt it will be a success. Terribly mismanaged countries like Mexico and Brazil will always manage to screw things up. The U.S. will be like the one locomotive car carrying a bunch of empty container cars, just slowing down the train.

Once the economic advantages of the union are exposed to be fallacious, all talk of a real EU type merger will abruptly end. Just keep this in mind: Forming a super-government with Mexico would be like a marriage. And the Mexican bride we're looking at is (figuratively) old, riddled with disease, and smells bad. We won't even get to the alter.

They always have meeting each year, and lot of the meeting is techincal things. The American dollar will replace the Mexican Peso, and Candain in the next 20 years, and economic union of commerce and movement of goods, labor is gonna occur. North America will not have EU style system, but it be more likely like Austraila or New Zealand setup where goods, and labor move freely, but each country is allowed to enforce thier own rules, and weflare freeibles would be prohibited to non-citizens.

Screw a financial union, just invade them both and make them part of the US.

Just kidding of course. With other Latin american countries moving to the US Dollar, I wouldn't be suprised if Canada and Mexico make the move to making a single currency and eventually push to have all of north and south America move that direction.

Hopefully, he's encouraging them to do their part in helping to secure our borders and garnering support of our efforts to do the same.

Or, they might just be sharing in a friendly neighborhood barbeque featuring delicious cabreto toasted over with a few icy cold, lime and salt laden Corona.

Yummmmm. Wish I could be there....

I feel sorry for her family. She DOES have other children... I can only imagine how they feel having lost their brother and then their mother going crazy like this. Clearly, she's mentally ill. She DID lose her son, so I can't judge her for that. She probably wasn't a stable person to begin with and this just pushed her right over the edge. I'm embarrassed for her every time I see her on T.V. (when I don't change the channel upon seeing her face, which is rare). She speaks about foreign policy (not just relating to Iraq) and it's terribly obvious that she's not a terribly intelligent person and her knowledge of history, government, and foreign affairs is woefully deficient. She's basically a stalker. The ONLY thing I will give her credit for is that she is organizing her protests in appropriate places (public areas near the President) and NOT at funerals of soldiers. She may be mentally unwell, but at least she still has a heart. (Can you tell that my head tells me that I can't stand her, but my heart feels sorry for her? She truly needs to be on meds. and live her life with what's left of her family.)
