Griffin was the former no.1 high school player in American. He had loads of upside. The Rockets in fact drafted him no. 7 overall in the 2001 NBA draft. He was a player with tremendous potential, but he never came through on it. He never got it. What do you think?

Maybe it was fleeting potential and he actually peaked as a player due to any number of issues. But it is a tragedy when any person dies, especially in an accident.

i'm from houston and i was checking the news at chron.com and they found a 6 foot-something black guy's body. i was like "woah! he's tall! he must play basketball or something.." and what do you know, it was none other than that of Eddie Griffen...very sad and very ironic how i found that...there's a lesson to be learned from drinking and driving....
