if you like it you should go for it, especially if it is more common in your area than where ever we are answering from.
I know a lady that goes by Tilly, it's sweet, but bell is so sweet.
I like it much more without the p...
but if you really want to call her Bell, why not just name her Bell?

Belle Mattilda?
Bell Matty...

Cambelle seems a little more feminine somehow,

I love it without the "P"

Cambell is pretty cool

Bell by itself is nice too, My grandson has a little friend named Bell in day care. Or Belle

Australia hmm? What about Perth or another geographical name. u know like Nevada Barr the author. The subject of geographical names for kids came up on Y!answers and recieved very positive comments.

I actually LOVE the name Campbell despite what everyone else thinks. I've been holding this name on my list for years now. I first liked the name when I saw Campbell Brown, the news anchor. Yeah, so one might think of soup...so what? When I hear Madison, I think of a dog. When I hear Haley, Hannah, Emma, Emily, etc. I think of the 15 million other people with those names. Campbell is different and unique! Go for it!

I'm not a big fan of Campbell. I think of soup too. But I love the nickname Belle. Chloe is good also.

I like Campbell but do not shorten it to Belle, sounds like a dog's name

I also like Matilda and Tilly

Campbell seems like more of a boy's name, but then lots of boy's names turn into girl's names over time. I love the nickname Bell.

Congrats on your baby girl!

Personally, I like it. It remids me of Campbell Brown, from GMA or the Today show, whichever one she is on.

I also love Matilda if you're an Aussie.

Campbell is a last name...or a soup...

not keen on it for a first name for a boy or a girl, sorry!

If you want Bell as the nickname, go with Isabelle!

Stick with Campbell (and leave the spelling as is....) Do you really care what other people have to say? Having said that, here is my opinion on the "nickname" thing....

I do not like nicknames. If her name is Campbell, she should be called Campbell.

Sorry, but Campbell is my maiden name and I wouldn't do that. Everyone called me Campbell's soup. Not only that, but it's more of a boys name as a first name anyway! Good luck and Belle is cute.
